I am sharing a beautiful poem by a talented poetess from the island of Samoa
Power to Pacific artists!

To A Young Artist in Contemplation
By Sia Figel

Y(our) anguish
is a flame
only the night
understands
a journey
with no beginning
no middle
no end

Y(our) pain
a child of the salt
in the sea
that surrounds you
a journey
with no beginning
no middle
no end

Listen to the stars
for like the night
they too know of
your lonliness
and to the waves
in the distance
for they alone
hear your cry
in silence
the moon will
touch the part of you
- no one else sees
the one that cries
in the day
between your smiles
your laugh

Birds will bring joy
from far away
you will hear it
on the tongues of leaves
- eternal joy of
the free spirit that you are
press it gently
to your heart
it is y(our) only possession
the one that will
carry you
carry you
carry you
throughout y(our) journey

and when no one else listens
and when no else
understands you
go back to the sea
and scream
(in silence)
and the mana of salt
will heal
over and over
as you begin y(our) journey
again
and again
and again...
The theme of this post is: UNIVERSAL FAMILY
Some say that racism is a thing of the past, and so is stereo-typing and discrimination and bigotry
But let me ask you this...how common is it to see an inter-racial marriage?
People are still scared of the UNKNOWN...of whats different to the norms of what they are used to and what they have grown up with
But dont you see - we are all the same!!!!!!!!!
And to go even further on that note -- whats up with discrimination against non-humans??...by that i mean our environment, mother earth, the sacred plants and trees and animals that enable us as humans to survive
Heres some quotes, im purposely citing the author's race to make the point that we are all the same

"I empty a vitamin pill and shut myself into the capsule, hoping desperately to transmute myself into someone blissfully average..."
Sudesh Mishra, Indian-Fijian

"To resist is to piss in the wind
Anyone who does will end up smelling
Knowing this why do I defy
Cuz my inner voice is yelling"
Travis Wells quoting Incubus - The New Age Crew, African American

"There's a race of men that don't fit in
A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin
And roam the world at will."
Robert Service, 1907, English- Canadian

"We all come from the Goddess
And to her we shall return
Like a drop of rain
Flowing to the ocean

We all come from the Sun God
And to him we shall return
Like a spark of fire
Flying to the open sky

We all come from One
And to One we shall return
Like a ray of light
reaching for eternity"

Found my pen...back again

contemplations from a lonely soul
set adrift on the aqua-green
sea of change

dark clouds move swiftly
covering the once
luminously blue
crystal sky
with a twinge (?) of
grey saddness and
insecurity about
the approaching weather patterns

Will the wind
gather together its force
of change
and sweep upon us
like an angry kitten
always ready for a good tustle
...
or will it gently
rock us back
to the womb-like state
of sleep and serenity?

But oh look
the sun has regained
her composure
and has slyly revealed
her all-knowing self
back through the
melancholy
grey
clouds

She doesn't want to
give up that easy!
...not today at least
for this is
the kingdom of the sun
and we know she won't
give up
her territory
that easily!

Besides...
she's not like
the moon
disappearing
for days
on end
to the point where
the stars become
the only reminder of nighttime

No
of course
she will share
her playground
with the clouds
as long as they
keep to the rules
that is!
playing
hide and seek
is all good fun
but not when
the clouds become
too powerful
too cohesive

No
she doesn't have much patience
for that
No
the sun is
the expansion of
the ego
the self
the power trip
we only dream about
on those days...
when we just can't seem
to find our
voice
our self-expression

For don't we all want to shine?

FIJI......FREEDOM
Here.
Now.
Me.
Fiji.
Crazy.
Real.
Alive.
Free.

A return to the roots of civilization
to a strange, unsure, beautiful, welcoming, poor, rich, alive land.
Take a breath and
slow down your thinking,
universal traveller.
Immerse yourself in the sun and water and
just close your eyes.
Here.
Now.
Fiji.

What a paradox we live in as humans...
Different types each colored with a different crayola
some are mixed together -
others stand alone.
The fearful ones overcrowd their side of the box.
Why don't we all melt down and become a messy blob of color, leaking onto our neighbors??

"Because we are different and......
religiously speaking.....
statistically speaking.....
economically speaking.....
socially speaking......
inherently speaking......"

Why don't you stop speaking and
start living?
You view the world in terms of money and numbers -
the world is your abacus.
What is not tangible or visible to the eye
does not exist to you.

Expand your mind.
Think outside the box.

Respect to YOU
Respect to ME
And we shall all be FREE
Here are some quotes I have collected that help to explain that elusive life-changing, habit-forming thing we call:
TRAVELLING
"He who does not TRAVEL does not know the value of men [people...sorry 21st century update]."
-------------------------------------------- Moorish Proverb
"You cannot TRAVEL on the path before you have become the path itself."
-------------------------------------------- Guatama Buddha
"We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time."
-------------------------------------------- T.S. Eliot
"Above all, never lose your desire to walk. The more one sits still, the closer one comes to feeling ill. If one keeps walking, everything will be alright."
-------------------------------------------- Not Sure
"He is by nature led to peace so perfect that the young behold with envy what the old man hardly feels."
------------------------------------------- Wordsworth
Wow....I am blogging, i feel like I'm checking into the 21st century...pretty neat

Yeah so hi to me...because at the end of the day who else are you really blogging for anyway? Yeah maybe you'll give your friends and family the address...let them browse your deepest inner thoughts...know the intricacies of your daily life...but any writer with a SOUL knows they would be doing this anyway, no matter who did and didn't read it...
because thats what writing is...a gateway into the inner workings of your soul...those deep hard to reach thoughts that dangle on the tip of your tongue when your deep in conversation...but theres always the FEAR...scared that your fellow conversant will think your a crazy tree-hugging liberal...or maybe if you let them see too deep inside of you, let them look deeply enough into your bright wide eyes...just maybe they could snatch the very thought out of your brain and store it somewhere inside of theirs...and then the thought would be lost to you forever
So yes this is why writing is so important for those of us who think we have something to say...this is a creative release...we use words as our water-colors...to paint a picture of the flow that moves up our bodies...the current of energy surging through our chakras, begging to be released...dying to be released...because without a release, that is when we get SICK
Yes this "alternative health" movement is sweeping our world...it is bringing back the primitive (=beautiful, to me) mind, the consciousness that connects our physical body to our mental mind to our holy spirit
once we begin to understand those connections then we can understand our balance on the scale of this universe that we call home...how we connect and interact with the other living things that surround us from the ground...and envelope us from up above

WE humans have become pretty egocentric in the grand scheme of things...many of us have shut off from the energy circulating thru the atmosphere...we are too concerned with our earthly needs and possessions
WE have forgotten how to heal ourselves and be healed by what surrounds us
WE have managed to destroy the very people who were put on this earth to teach us these lessons
WE have no respect for intuitive wisdom, not the knowledge that comes from books and professors, but the knowing that comes from within ourselves
WE regard ourselves to be the only species of any significance on this earthly plane, and have even gone far enough to establish hierarchies within our own species based on gender and skin color (just to name a few...)
WE are destroying the environment that surrounds us because we CAN

Okay enough ranting for the moment...I dont plan to take on this tone for all of my blogs, but with the state of the world today, its hard not to spew

I am on a journey of the soul, along with all of you, although you may not quite be aware of it yet
I invite you to follow me on this journey of learning and discovery and see where we end up
I plan to do alot of sharing of knowledge on this site, so please enjoy and comment and share too

Bye...Namaste...Shalom...Moce
